Food Gumbo, Recipe Emeril, Red Beans Rice

Here in Louisiana we don't call it "food gumbo" no no no this is not right. It is called Chicken Gumbo or Seafood Gumbo or a combination of both. A lot of times okra is also added. I also show that over 90,000 people a month do a search "red beans rice". Here in Louisiana we call it Red Beans and Rice. Usually some high quality pork sausage is served in the mix. Sometimes it is a 6 to 8 inch link or it is cut up into 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces. Some of us also like to add some hot sauce to it. Just make sure the hot sauce you use is from Louisiana preferably from New Iberia.

Red beans and rice is a traditional New Orleans recipe made
with red kidney beans, ham hock, sausage, onion, bell pepper
and spices served over rice. Slow cook for 6-8 hours or so. This makes the flavor really come out of the meat and it gets very tender.
